LOCATION
From Hwy 61 in Tofte, go north on the Sawbill Trail (Co. Rd. 2) for 2 miles to the
parking area on the east/right

TRAILHEAD
walk across the Sawbill Trail and follow the snowmobile trail

LENGTH
3.4 miles round-trip to the peak or 5.2 miles round-trip to the overlook

LEVEL OF DIFFICULTY
easy to moderate (final ascent to the peak)

HIGHLIGHTS
an expanse of grasslands, a maple forest, the peak and overlook with wide-open views of Lake Superior, Tofte, the Temperance River valley and west past Taconite Harbor

Britton Peak
LOCATION
From Hwy 61 in Tofte, go north on the Sawbill Trail (Co. Rd. 2) for 2 miles to the
parking area on the east/right

TRAILHEAD
north end of the parking area; not the Sugarbush cross-country ski trail

LENGTH
0.5 mile total

LEVEL OF DIFFICULTY
more difficult (steep grade)

a flashlight and raingear
