A note from Max
Enough snow for fun!

The North Shore has seen anywhere from ten to twenty inches of snow this season, a very low snowfall for the back half of january. Most ski and showshoe trails are open and will continue to improve in conditions as more snow falls.

You can get out and enjoy some of your favorite hiking trails this winter. With lower snowfall, some trails that would be nearly inaccessable this time of year make for an enjoyable hike in the snow. Remember, trails aren’t shoveled so hiking boots or traction devices for your shoes are recommended.

Temps are still below freezing so don’t forget to pack your winter gear.

With Solstice past, days will lengthen but night still comes early. Most of the North Shore goes dark at sunset, making it an ideal Dark Skies area for stargazing and looking for northern lights.

Have fun and be kind,
