The play tells the story of two young bucks who, having spent all their money by living too well, leave London and roam from town to town in search of love and fortune. This scenic bicycle tour will travel along the beautiful North Shore of Lake Superior. Distances range from 15 to 100 miles. |

Superior Hiking Trail :: Guided Hike
Judge Magney State Park to Camp 20 Road [Co Rd 70]
4.9 miles. The trail follows the Brule River for over two miles and features the dramatic Devil’s Kettle Falls. After nice forests, the trail climbs to a rocky knob with a view of Lake Superior, then descends into the Flute Reed River Valley. At Hwy 61 milepost 124.4 turn north on Co Rd 69 (North Rd) and go 2.75 miles. Turn north (left) on Co Rd 70 (Camp 20 Rd) and follow road 3 miles to trailhead pull off on left side of road
All SHTA hikes begin at 10:00 a.m. rain or shine. All hikes are free of charge and open to the public. Each hike is led by a member of the Superior Hiking Trail Association and includes an orientation and briefing by an area naturalist. Wear sturdy boots or hiking shoes, bring lunch, beverages and insect repellant. |

Cascade State Park to Caribou Trail
11.0 miles. Take in many views of Lake Superior and inland ridges of the Sawtooth Mountains, including Lookout Mountain, while hiking through mixed forests. Meet at the Caribou Trail parking lot. At Hwy 61 milepost 92, turn north (inland) at Cook Co. Rd 4 (Caribou Trail) and go 4.1 miles to trailhead parking lot on right.

Caribou River Wayside to Cook County Rd 1
9.0 miles. This hike climbs along the Caribou River with a chance to take a spur trail to the base of the dramatic Caribou Falls. It continues through birch and maple forests over the only covered bridge on the trail. After steeply descending from the ridge line, the trail crosses Dyers Creek and continues along the Two Island River. Meet at the Cook Co Rd 1 parking lot. At Hwy 61 milepost 78.9, go west (inland) on Cook Co Rd 1 (Cramer Rd) 3.6 miles to the parking lot on the right.

Annual Sawtooth Mountain XC SKi Race
at Pincushion Mountain near Grand Marais
The Sawtooth Races provides opportunities for both classic and freestyle skiers of all ages and ability levels. We will have a 10K classic event, followed by a 20K freestyle event. Both will be run on a 10K loop utilizing intermediate level Pincushion Mountain trails. There will be a self-seeded mass start at 10 am for all 10K classic racers and another mass start at 11 am for the 20K freestyle racers. Separate awards will be given for the 10K classic and for the 20K freestyle events. Junior skiers are encouraged to enter the 10K event. For those up to the challenge, start times will allow skiers to enter both the classical and freestyle events, although there will be no separate awards for a combined event.
