Description Bike along sugar maple ridgelines, then descend into grassy openings and muddy drainage areas. Follows cross-country ski trails with maps at intersections.
Directions From Hwy 61 in Tofte, drive north on the Sawbill Trail (Co. Rd. 2) about 2 mile to Britton Peak parking
Length Up to 17 miles

Trail Surface Dirt trail with some wet and muddy areas

Carlton Peak-Tofte Trails
Description From the grassy, packed-dirt 1 1/2-mile snowmobile trail to Carlton Peak - it's a 5-minute walk to the summit. Return on the same route or, near the Sawbill Trail take the 3-mile Tofte Trail, all downhill to Highway 61; a grassy trailwith small creeks.
Directions From Hwy 61 in Tofte, drive north on the Sawbill Trail (Co. Rd. 2) about 2.5 mile to parking, cross west over the Sawbill Trail and head south to the trailhead
Length 3 to 6 miles
