Brighton Beach
On Lake Superior, 1/4 mile east of the Lester River, just outside of Duluth
Features summer-use restrooms, picnic facilities, a great cobblestone beach and swimming (no lifeguard).


Stoney Point
On Lake Superior, on Scenic 61 about 13 miles from Duluth; take the road across from Tom's Logging Camp
This one-mile loop is great for wave watching, skipping stones and picnicking.


Two Harbors Waterfront
On Lake Superior, off Hwy 61, follow the Waterfront signs in town
The waterfront area has picnic tables and a gazebo near the Edna G. tugboat; picnic tables by the public boat access, and several spots to spread a blanket!


Flood Bay State Wayside
On Lake Superior, off Hwy 61, just east of Two Harbors
A great waterfront area to meander, picnic and search for agates.


All 8 Great State Parks
Gooseberry Falls - Split Rock Lighthouse - Tettegouche - Crosby Manitou - Temperance River - Cascade River Judge Magney - Grand Portage

Tofte Park
On Lake Superior, on the Tofte Park Road, a loop from just east of Schroeder through Tofte
Accessible beach, picnic tables, seasonal outhouses, pavilion, a playground and a public boat access to Lake Superior

Grand View Park
On Lake Superior, off Hwy 61, just east of Lutsen
Features a covered pavilion, picnic tables, volleyball court, fire pit and charcoal grill - and coming in 2009, a large playground.

Good Harbor Bay & Cut Face Creek Wayside
On Lake Superior, on Hwy 61, about 12 miles east of Lutsen
This newly-renovated wayside features restrooms, picnic tables, and a cobblestone beach.


Kadunce River State Wayside
On Lake Superior, on Hwy 61, about 9 miles east of Grand Marais
A quiet picnic spot with a few tables and a hiking trail up the river.


Mount Josephine Area
On Lake Superior, on Hwy 61, about 32 miles east of Grand Marais
Three pull-offs are on the lake side of the road; one features restrooms. This rugged area showcases Mount Josephine, Mount Rose and Mount Maud plus views of the Susie Islands, Isle Royale and Hat Point.
